Commodities Distribution

Unite ministry in Hays, Kansas, oversees the regional federal commodities distribution, which goes out to 9 counties and 33 local food banks. This includes unloading pallets on Monday and distributing food on Tuesday.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Inspiring potential through one-to-one mentorship
They believe all youth have potential and deserve the opportunity to achieve success in life.
By matching youth facing adversity with a caring adult mentor in a one-to-one mentoring relationship, Bigs help inspire greater self-confidence, better academic performance, and dreams for the future that will change their life for the better, forever.

The Hearth

The Ellis County Ministerial Alliance is working with First Baptist Church of Hays and others to provide a safe and warm place where people can sleep, provided they can get enough volunteers to run it. The Hearth would only open when the temperature outside gets cold enough to present severe risk to people and only if people show up during the opening hours to use it overnight.

Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan’s Purse sends gift-filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to children in need around the world, together with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
You can help by packing a shoebox or assisting during collection week at one of the various drop-off locations in Hays.

MomCo Childcare

MomCo is an event where moms can gather to find community and connection. they invite volunteers to provide childcare for kids ages 0-8 during their meeting times so that moms can fully engage. They meet the second Saturday of each month from 9:15-11:40 am. at North Oak Community Church, 3000 Oak St., Hays, KS.
